Basically, what I would like to do, Is create a Alignment that has Three Dimensional properties (Differing Elevations) For each coordinate and export it to a file that can be uploaded into a survey Trimble Controller. An Rxl file would be great.
We do this all the time by creating an alignment then creating a design profile for that alignment. You can use trimble link to upload the profile and alignment to your collector.
Okay. Usually I create an alignment from an object, an existing polyline. But I do not know how to create an alignment based off of an 3D polyline, and I don't really need a design profile. I have Trimble Link on my computer.
You could draw an alignment over the top of your 3d polyline then create a profile view for that alignment. Then i would turn the 3d polyline into a feature line and project it to the profile view and draw a design profile over the top of that projected line. Then export both to the collector. Don't know if that is the only way but that is how I would handle it, quick fast and done.
thanks
Terry
Actually what I think I really need to do is to create a Road File based on the 3DPolyline. According to the Surveyors.
The export road file is looking for a corridor.
Yes to export a road file you need a road corridor created in C3D.
Sorry to be terribly annoying but I do not know how to build a corridor in Civil 3D..
Your best bet and the fastest is to do the alignment and profile, then upload the alignment and profile to the collector.
