Corridor build gets into infinite loop.......

I have a working corridor model with all of my main streets and some of the
intersections complete. However, when trying to model one specific
intersection I can get C3D to appear to be locked up. Inspecting the Task
Manager shows that C3D is, in fact, working. The memory use grows until it's
just below 400mb and the CPU usage ranges from 60%-94%. I can duplicate this
repeatedly, and I've tried constructing the intersection in a number of
different ways....all with the same result. I've even let it run overnight
to come in the following day with it still 'working'. I finally must end the
task in Task Manager.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the subject intersection. The interesection to
the right models correctly, the one to the left is the problem. Note that
all of the assemblies I'm using for this intersection are also being used in
other intersections of the some corridor.

Any ideas?

Did you happen to paste a copy of the corridor surface into the EG that you
are targeting with your corridor?

No, but just that little question made me realize what I had done.

I used the corridor surface to sample the FG for the transition and
neglected to create a FG profile that doesn't reference the surface. I just
did that and all is well.

Sometimes it's the simplest of things that get looked right past.

Thanks, Nick.

Ya,

Just about the same difference then. Lots to think about always.

Is there a way to stop the loop without killing it through Task Manager? Civil3D 2015 SP2

Holy Moly, that was 8 years ago?!?!?

Archkn1ght, welcome to the forums! I am unaware of any other method to stop an infinite rebuild like that.
