Corridor Section Editor huge markers

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but for the life of me I can't figure this one out. I create a new drawing from the imperial template, data reference in a surface, draw a polyline, convert it to an alignment, create a surface profile, import an assembly from the toolpalette, create a corridor, edit the section and I get this big 'ol markers in it.

They don't seem to be tied into the code set style because changing it (even created a new one) doesn't make any difference. They do change with the drawing scale so they've got to be a C3D object of some sort.

They must be tied to the code set style. Attach your file.

That's just it, I don't think they are. They don't show up in the section views with the same code set style. The files to big to post here so I'll send it to the customers files group.

In the meantime, here's an image showing the section view and the section editor using the same code set style.

If the marker style used in the Code Set for the Point(s) uses an AutoCAD
Point, then the PDMODE & PDSIZE variables will affect this.

If that was the case, they would show up that way in the section views as well, which they don't (see my reply to Matt). Also, just to verify, pdsize and pdmode are both 0.

If you are looking at the file I posted, I saved the drawing while in the section editor (doesn't work that great). You'll have to change the ucs to world and then set it back to plan for the left viewport.

So, when you open the file, you see the same thing? What if you create a new file using the imperial template, do you see them?

I've had that problem in the past. I went into the Marker Style (General -> Multipurpose Styles -> Marker Styles) and changed the 'Size' setting. If I recall correctly... it's been a while since I've seen the problem occur. I never figured out what it was, but all my subassembly markers blew up to be 4x too big. Resetting the marker size to a smaller value corrected the symptom.

I ran into this when C3D 2010 first came out, and thanks to the Guys at Autodesk Support, they helped me out!

Brian....here you go,

Settings Tab>General>Multi Purpose Styles>Marker Styles> browse down to "Projection in Section" Marker, right click and edit. Go to Display tab. Change View Direction to Section, turn off Lightbulb (visibility). Now go back into View/Edit Corridors and they should be gone.

Excellent. That is definitely the culprit. Now it's time to investigate what is telling that style to display. It's not in the codeset that I can see.

Aha! I found it! I think the answer will be better served as a blog post but basically the feature line styles are assigning that marker style to the sections.

Here's the blog post:

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It would have taken me forever to figure that one out on my own.
