Copying Styles

Is there a way to copy styles from one drawing to another? Say, I'd like to
use a surface style from one of the tutorial drawings in one of my own. I'm
sure you could save a template with these styles in it for creating new
ones, but how about an existing drawing?

One way...

Open both drawings with the drawing that you want to import into in the
foreground.

Access the second drawing's Settings in the Toolspace "Master View". Simply
drag and drop the style or styles from the Toolspace into the drawing
window.

When I tried to drag and drop it, it had the familiar "no" sign (circle
w/slash). I didn't mention I tried that already because I thought the
program wasn't set up to do that. Curious...if you're able to do it, am I
missing something?

In some cases, I do get the "no" sign.

For example, I can drag and drop the "Drill Hole" point style. I can also
drag and drop the "On Elevation - Point El & Desc" point label style. I can
even drag and drop the entire Point Styles collection. But I CANNOT drag
and drop the entire Label Styles collection under Points.

So...from the Settings tab, go to drawing name => Point => Point Style =>
Benchmark (assuming you started with one of the templates). Drag and drop
benchmark from one drawing into your drawing window (the black space where
your actual drawing entities are) for the other drawing.

Why not take the file and save it as a template, then open a new drawing
using that template.

Because I need to copy them to an existing drawing.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. First, your tip on dragging the style
to the drawing window helped. That works perfectly. Also, I was dragging
the style to the other drawing's Surface Style subfolder. Apparently, it
does not allow you to drop them anywhere except on the drawing name. Thanks
for your help.

I didn't know that you can also drag it to the other drawing's name in the
