Converting Expressions with ??? to some thing useful

Hi

I am trying to create a label for slopes in cross sections for a surface created from breaklines using gade breaks as you can not weed segment labels

I am weeding the labels out based on the change in grade of the section profile and making the label text high very small of the labels I do not want to see. But the first label returns ??? because there  is no grade coming in so I get ??? instead of something usefull like null. Has anyone found away to convert ??? to something you can evaluate and use.

You are a very clever bloke Mr Ralston, no doubt.

i have experienced this issue on cross-sections and believe the answer to be that AutoDESK could give a label filtering selection that would include feature lines only on surfaces created from corridors.

This way you would get cross-section labels at feature line locations only rather than all grade breaks...which are effectively where the cross-section crosses a surface triangle.

As to how to get the answer you want?  I have no idea.

nice chatting tho..

won't be long til the snow is at your ankles.
