Convert .crd file

I have a .crd file which i need to convert to ASC1II file to then import into civil 3d to build a ground model. I have used the survey link as suggested in a previous post

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Civil-3D/Trimble-crd-files/td-p/3071162

However when i click convert i get an error saying points not found, please see attached.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how i can go about importing the .crd file?

crd files used to be the standard output from MX GENIO in which case you need the GENIO import/export tool from subscription centre (and as MX is mentioned in your screen capture.......)

If you can copy and paste the first dozen or so lines it'll be easy to confirm or not.

You can use survey link for that

Go to the Home Tab and select the Ground Data pull-down.

There you'll see Surveylink

My money's on it being an MX GENIO file......:)

I guess it would have helped if I looked at the screen shot 🙂

Carlson's internal binary point db is .CRD also.

They have a standalone tool to convert that to PNEZD.

The MX version is an ASCII Text file albeit in a weird format....

C&G also used the CRD file extension and it's binary format differs from Carlson.  Post your file and we can tell you more and likely convert it for you.

Take the simple path, go to; http://www.stringersurvey.com/prod01.htm and down load Stringer Connect.

The program is free and with about three or four clicks of the mouse you will have a FBK file. You can use the fbk to generate your line work.
