Connecting Corridor

Dear all,

I need some help with the following issue:

01.png

I would like to have the corridor (1) connected to (2).

(2) is my Exisiting Surface -0.05m.

This is a screenshot of a part from the overview. I can make an alignment there, but how do I connect the corridor(the bottom) with that alignment?

02.png

Hope somebody can help me,

Thanking you in advance,

Lex

You could use a generic link subassembly that targets the EG surface or if the offset is constant you could use a slope/offset link or any of several links that can achieve similar results.

Which one do you suggest? They all have a slope which i don't want. I want it to be exactly on that spot (90 degree)

And how to let it target a specific surface?

can you explain more what it is you are trying to accomplish? what are the other lines above and below eg in you picture?

Its an asphalt project.

The top cyan line is the EG. The Bottom one is EG -0.10m (milling). Then we apply 0.05m asphalt (= EG -0.05m). Then we need leveling to profile the road with a 1,5% slope. This happens from the the EG -0.05m. That's why I want to target my corridor(which is 0.05m toplayer) to this surface.

What I tried:

- Add LinkVertical -> Target it on Corridor to EG -0.05 but it's not targeting. This is what i get:

01.png

02.png

LinkVertical Parameters:

Vertical Deflection: -0.001m

Point Codes: P2

Link Codes: Datum

Omit Link: No

What am I doing wrong?

I hope you understand

Link slope to surface should work. You cannot create a vertical face but you can give it a slope that is extremely close to vertical. What is the purpose of this link?

Yes this is not what i want.

I want my  corridor at that point

01.png

I want that the orange circle(Coriddor) is ALWAYS at the Purple point (surface).

Maybe more clear: I want that the bottom left corner of my corridor will link itself(the corridor) to a specific surface.

Go check out the Help on this subassembly, it does not target a surface.

I understand now your dilemma. The subgrade components of assemblies are controlled by a fixed parameter whereas you need it to follow a target. I don't know the subassemblies well enough to know if one exists that has that capability. You may find a solution with subassembly composer. Perhaps someone with more knowledge about these tools will offer a solution.

Perhaps a solution can be found with one of the rehab subassemblies. I've never used them but I see they do have ability to target surfaces in the subgrade properties.

Lex, the rehab subs will do what you need: Mill&OverlayII

Hey, It is working but I still have an issue.

01.png

We are planning to mill 1 meter width from the edge to the EG -0.05 (Purple area). I have to apply asphalt in the dark grey area as well.

How can I make this in my assembly too?

Edit: It seems like everything i try to add to the assembly results in malfunction

Is that wedge for quantity or are you trying to show it the the contractor?

dont know what you tried to attach but I have adde lanes and daylights with success.

that milling wedge would be a tough one. Although I haven't done it myself two corridor passes may work. two offset alignments abd offset subs of genering links to form the edge. then pass the M&OII and the qty will be true and level material

Yes I am the contractor working out a design and build.

It is for quantity and execution purposes.

I will try some things and let you know if it's working.

Thanks for the help so far.

I meant to add to that: the first pass creates the modified EG for the second pass to target

Presumably the edge mill is fairly uniform - maybe its just a hand calculation on to of the overlay numbers?

Guys, I have one more situation.

I want to add to my overlay&mill, a "lane"/Asphalt Layer of 0.05m to the marked point (on the left)

This marked point is a corridor and will differ in level in my road. I want that the lane/asphalt layer will always connect to that point.

How can i do this?

I am afraid my understanding of the marked point tool is less than adequate.

How did you do with the milling wedge

yes the milling part will be almost the same and can be calculated by 'hand'.

One more question.

When i add something to my assembly (overlay&mill2) this is what happens:

Assembly:

Section View:

Any idea on this?

I'd have to see the corridor and assembly. can you post it? What is the sub-assembly?
