Component draw order does/does not work?

Trying to change my labels in dragged state and my component is Description,
#, elev. I select the component draw order and move the # to the top but it
remains D,#,E in the drawing. These are points via a fbk file. What gives?

and if I set it to "as composed" I get my desired order of display. Now that
I think about it that makes sense. So is there a way to set stacked to what
I want? I have to use stacked because I can't figure out how else to get my
point label leader to follow the text corectly unless there is another way.

If I remember correctly the stacked text is put in the order that the components where created. Recreate the components in the order that you want and it should stack the way you want.

yes, and why are we still waiting on this issue to be fixed?

If we have a display order option, it should also be so for stacked text as well...in my view

Having to re-create the style in order is work we need to do twice...and we are three versions down the track now...surely...

I agree regarding not having to recreate the style - but I think you and the OP are confusing "component draw order" with the order in which the components appear in the label. The former is "Draw order", as in where the objects reside "Z" axis so to speak - to control what plots or top of what (top meaning stacked in the Z, not above in the Y axis)
