I noticed this in Civil 2014 (this was OK in Civil 2013) but the issue remains in Civil 2015:
A Map Book can use a Legend that is User Defined. The legend must be in the Model Space.
The Legend creation tool on an SDF file was in Tools in 2013 where the legend could be created in Model Space and used as part of the Map Book easily.
In Civil 2014 and Civil 2015, the legend can only be created in Paper Space, as far as is know, but the Map Book feature wants the legend to be found in Model Space.
I have used an awkward work around that :
1. Copy the legend in Paper Space off to one side of the paper.
2. Explode that Copy of the Legend in Paper Space
3. Use ctrl-x (cut in Windows) to cut the legend to the clipboard4. Switch over to Model Space5. Use ctrl-v (paste in Windows) to place the legend from the clipboard6. Scale the legend to an "appropriate" size7. Run the Map Book creation workflow and use the User Defined Legend in Model Space by defining the Legend bounds This work far better in 2013 for the work around is clumsy for the cutting and pasting ignores the colors of the legend which then have to be re-creted in Model Space which is very time consuming. Will this be changed in such a way so that Model Space legends can be created in the same was as they were in Civil 2013?
