Civil 3d Subscription-Service Pack Question

I currently use Civil 3d 2007 SP-3. Our subscription has lapsed. I am a beta tester and I am trying to convince the boss to renew the subscription. I know of several issues with 2007 which have been fixed in the upcoming version. If I am unable to continue with a subscription will there ever be a Service pack for 2007 to address problems with the program (not new features) such as problems with Named Plot Style errors in styles, Parts list Optional Properties problems, etc.? I feel if the program has been written to function in a particular manner and the bugs/errors should be addressed.

I think I know the answer to the above. I will probably have to live with the hundreds of errors reported by Audit due to Named Plot Style errors in the styles.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like the program and would love to continue with a subscription but don't know if I will succeed with my lobbying for the subscription.

If they haven't released it yet I wouldn't expect it. I have seen SPs
released after the next version was released. But that was for a Major
problem and was some time ago. I have heard there may be a SP to make 2007
Vista compatible. But I doubt that any other fixes would be included. But
you can always hope.

Does your boss realize that if you don't renew the Subscription darn soon.
The only way you will EVER get an updated version of Civil 3D will be to pay
FULL price. Civil 3D is subscription only. It's not like LDT where you can
skip a few releases and get credit towards an upgrade 3 years later.

Since subscription in "about" one tenth the total price. You would have to
be without upgrades for 10 years to make it economically sensible.

Scary thing is according to past track record a new release is only stable (ie really usable) after at least SP2. This means current 2007 problems won't be rectified with a usable new release for months to come.
