If you do not want to deal with a corridor and since you have a profile, you can always create a feature line from your alignment; indicate you want to use the profile for the elevations and turn off the dynamic link to the alignment.  Then use the feature line stepped offset command to create your edge of pavement, curb lines, etc.

One other way to skin this cat, which may also help engrtech with non perpindicular curb lines.

Create a simple corridor for the pavement surface. Forget trying to model the curb with the corridor. Create a feature line for the bottom of curb, assigning elev's from the cor srf. Use the stepped offset to form the top of curb. Intersections do not need to be modeled if simple feature lines can form the intersection transitions well.

In the attached, lower right plan viewport, one intersection is detailed. The white feature lines get elev's from the cor surface, the dashed red feature lines handle the intersection transitions. If there are no intermediate elevation points or PI's on the red dashed feature lines, the intersection will be dynamic to edits in the white feature lines.

Ya, there is an existing surface (P1).

I redo it again (P2), and it looks like there is a part which is not fully covered.

The message (M) pops up.

Appreciate your help.

The way I do is:

Corridor > create assembly… > see pictures.

Did i miss something?

When I create the intersection in civil 3D, the intersection has to which type? Assume the lines in the pictures are alignments.

I used type 3 to do intersection; I got no respond from it.

Must I use type 1 & 2 to do intersection?

Appreciate your help.

Hi Jeff_M,

How can have a volume report in combination between platform level and road level?

For example:

I have Existing Ground surface, Propose ground surface (Platform Level), Road Finish Level.

Will it be possible for me to have the cut and fill volume report in combination between the data above?

Appreciate your help.

Not quite sure I know what you need. But you can paste the Finish Grade and Corridor surfaces together then get your cut-fill volumes between the combined surface and the existing ground.

Does that answer the question?

Does anyone know how to create slope using civil 3D?

Take a look at the picture; I want to make a slope after the building, which is from the cyan line. The location of the slope will be at the clouded area. I show a very simple example section on how slope looks like (see P1).

Is it possible to make it?

Appreciate your help.

Hello Sirs,

Can I ask one question about civil 3d drawing export to AutoCAD drawing?

My civil 3D drawing has more than 50000points, surface and contours.

When I export it, it take too long time more than an hour,... in fact I can't wait and I haven't finished yet  and thought it was too big file size. Kindly teach me how to export that big drawing?

Not to muddy the waters here, but you asked how to get elevations along offset alignments, without using a Corridor. I agree with the other posters, and would use a corridor.

But

You can gather those ETW elevations without a corridor by using the Create Offset Alignment function. Use the Create Offset Profiles tab . Once you have the offset profile, you can add Points or labels to obtain elevations. You might find this method easier than creating a corridor, and less-taxing on your drawing size.
