After sucessfully installing the Civil 3D 2014 Hotfix #1, I still get a message on the Product Update menu saying that a Product Update is available (even after I reboot)
When I try installing it again, I get a message saying that my system is up to date, but the "product update available" message won't go away
I'm having the same issue. I've filed a support request and will post the reply.
Here is the reply from support:
I think I'll leave mine running as it is not really a bother and it might be handly for other notifications.
At this point, to get the Communication Center to leave you alone, you will need to disable it. There are 2 ways to do this:
1. Change the name of the executable WSCommCntr4.exe found here: C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_IDSU_2013_English_64bit\x64\C3D\Program Files\Common Files\Common Files (64-bit) Folder\Autodesk Shared\WSCommCntr4\lib Rename it to _WSCommCntr4.exe [this will need to be done when C3D is not running.
2. You can follow the steps outlined in this article using the CAD Manager Control Utility: http://beingcivil.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/07/how-to-disable-communication-center.html
The first option is certainly easier, and can easily be undone if you desire to turn it back on in the future.
Please let me know which you choose, and the results.
