Civil 3D 2012 Profile Labels.

I did a quick search, but did not find what i was looking for. 

I have a drawing from 2008 and in the profile view, the pipe network displays correctly. The label style for the profile view structure also produces the results i want. see attachment 2.jpg

when i copy that lable style into my new drawing and then proceed to lable a structure, the label seems to attach its self to the "middle" of the part and also the text is dropped to almost a 0 "y". after i bring the text to the profile view the style displays almost correctly. minus the attacment issue. see attachment 1.jpg.

now, where is the setting of attacment stored? I would have to figure it is in either the part style or in the part list it self.  

please help.

Toolspace->Settings->Pipe Netwrok rt click, Edit Feature Settings ... see pic.

This must be set BEFORE adding the labels. Not sure if 2012 changed this, but in prior versions this seting has no effect on existing labels.

awesome!! that works.. and yes, you need to do it BEFORE. lol.

on another note.. how can a align the structure text at a certain "elevation" this would change for each profile.. i thought there was a way to have the annotation "snap" to the top of the profile..

hmm.. yeah i have changed all that.. and re created the labels.. they all come in staggered no matter what i change the settings. to.. 

i know i am doing something wrong.

Your StructureLabelStyle also needs to be set to use the structure dimension:

k.. so a fixed and set elevation works.. but just asking a question i think i know the answer to.. I need to change the elevation for each profile i label?

how would i make a label that is maybe "-12'(profile feet)" from the top of profile. 

does that make sense? sorry for the stupid questions.. its been 3 years since i used 3D and i am rusty and facing a deadline. lol.

I don't think you can do this automatically based on the profile scale, but you can create a label for each scale being used to do this. Just adjust the Y offset value for the label in the negative direction. So for a profile scale of 1"=5', a -2.4" offset would yield the -12'.
