Change properties of a PLGRIDSYSTEM

Hi,

Is it possible to change the color, linetype, etc of a PLGRIDSYSTEM in Civil 3D 2012?

Thanks,

Eric

Can you clue me in what a PLGRIDSYSTEM is? Not a recognized command in Civil 3D 2012.

Rick

Hi,

Tha command is MAPLAYOUTREFERENCESYSTEM and creates a PLGRIDSYSTEM, which is a map grid with labels in paperspace, very handy, but I don't see any way to change it's properties.

I always dit it with points and a custom point and label style with Northing and Easting. Thanks,

Regards,

Eric

Just from what I can tell, this isn't really that editable. You might want to post this question over on the Map3D Discussion group to see if any of those users have come up with a way to do this.

Our company uses the command maploadgridstyle to load the styles from an XML file. I'm not well versed in XML but I've managed to modify the styles a little bit.

Does anyone know how to look up which CAD variables correspond to the command maploadgridstyle? I'm trying to set the default text precision in the xml file and am having trouble figuring out which variables are available to change.

If you change the units of the drawing using the UNITS command prior to running the Reference System command that is how I found out how to control the precision.

Very useful post - line types can also be changed - (case sensitive).

The linetype scale can be changed in the Properties for the PLGRIDSYSTEM.

We can change not only the color in the XML.

<LabelStyle>
<!--
<Format>
General|ZoneName|GridFull|GridAbbreviated|Grid1m|Grid10m|Grid100m|Grid1km|Grid10km|Grid100km|DMS|DD|HostPrec
</Format>
-->
<Format>GridAbbreviated</Format>
<Offset>0.15</Offset>
<TextStyle>
<Font>Arial</Font>
<Height>0.1389</Height>
<Color>ff00DD00</Color>
</TextStyle>
</LabelStyle>
