Can I save a copy of a Survey Database before I translate?

I have a project that I need to move to a different coordinate system in order to meet regulatory guidelines.  Currently the project is in an "assumed" coordinate system that I don't want to lose because we have been working in that system for a long time.  I would like to copy the database (including figures, etc) to create another one (with a different name of course) that I will then translate to the required coordinate system.  Is the only option to Export an XML, create a new Survey Database & then import that XML?

SB,

Here's a thread that discusses that very topic:

Thanks for the response, but all I see in that other topic is instruction for exporting Survey Database settings- not copying or exporting Survey Database data and settings.

SB,

That's what you do. First export the settings, then use them as a "template".

So essentially you want a backup or a copy.!

Hopefully I got it right.

In file explorer make a copy and rename your Survey db folder.

In C3D select the Survey db collection, right click and refresh.

Will that work. I have done it and have not run into issues.

That only works if you using a separate folder for the database and the project, I have my sdb set to populate in my project folder, thereby keeping the drawing, and other files together with the database. This is were things are completely lacking in C3D with regards to project management, and the linking of the sdb to the drawing.
