Calculating Cut and Fill

Morning.

I am new to Civil 3D. My background is actually in Microstation (mainly 2D). I was asked if I could calculate the cut and fill between two topo surfaces. Unfortunately, I don't have the files yet but I will eventually receive them. When I do, what would be the correct method to achieve this task?

create the two surfaces then create a comapound TinnVolume Surface using the two surfaces.

You can then evaluate using elevations and get a basic read out from the surface propertes for volume. I sugest you do some reading up before you go further, start in the tutorials which ship with Civil3d.

I've watched a couple help videos .. I'll look more into it once I get the files. If I need help I'll come running here.

Thanks.
