I haven't found a setting that fixes that problem. My work around is to create a section view band style with all elements turned off. It'll leave room for the text box even though it's not visible. You'll have to experiment with the text box width. I'm using 0.2". Thas's on a 11x17 sheet with the viewport set at 20 scale.

THANKS. GOOD THINKING.

ANOTHER THING THAT IS PUZZELING IS IN THE FIRST SECTION THE LINE STOPS AT AROUND 50' BUT THE SURFACE GOES OUT 130'.  ON ALL THE OTHER SECTIONS IT GOES OUT TO 130.
