C3D and ADT Tool palettes Cohabitating?

Why won't Architectural Desktop palette files (ATC files) work when I try to co-mingle them with my Civil 3D palettes?

Both softwares are 2006, and I am migrating engineers from using ADT to C3D - however there are a handful of base Autocad commands they like to use from the palettes, such as dimensioning and annotation things they have built within ADT.

There doesn't appear to be an export palette feature in ADT. Copying the ATC file allowed me to see the palette, but I get an error message saying that the command is from a different program or cannot register properly.

Any hacks out there or do I have to rebuild the palettes?

I have not done this... however, have you tried to publish the ADT palettes
to a catalog, then use the catalog file to add the tools to C3D palettes.
And verify that the tools you are trying to copy from ADT use AutoCAD
commands not ADT commands, because only AutoCAD commands will be available
in C3D.
