Block Insertion Failed

I am trying to insert a block containing points that have been picked up by a GPS. Other similar files have worked before but when I try to insert it the message "Block Insertion failed" comes up. When I try it again a fatal error occurs or I get INTERNAL ERROR: !stub.cpp@223. I have tried saving the file under a different name and pasting it onto a new template. I have been plagued with this. My only workaround is to start a new drawing and insert the old one into that one, then rename the drawing the same as the previous one (over-writing it).



You can also check to see if you have a block in your drawing already that has the same name. If so, perhaps purging it out or renaming it to somethig else might fix it. Finding these little annoyances has become a way of life for me 🙂

i JUST HAD THIS OCCUR FOR THE FIRST TIME. Stupid CAPS
Lock.....anyway, this is how it happened and the fix:

I opened my title block drawing (this is my base drawing for
inserting to others), deleted everything (I was updating to match one that had
been edited-in-place in another drawing), used Design Center to insert said
edited block into the base block DWG, exploded the block, made some minor
revisions, saved, closed this DWG, closed Design Center. I then attempted to
insert that Title block into a new drawing and got this error. The problem is,
is that the Title block now has a block in it of the same name as the drawing
file. Re-opening the block DWG, purging, saving, closing allowed me to then
insert that block to the other drawing.
