Best practice for road widening surface display

I'm doing my first roadway widening and trying to determine the best way to display my widening surface.  The corridor surface ties the two widening areas together into one surface thus making it appear that my FG surface is contiguous.  Right now I'm using a hide boundary on the corridor surface but was wondering if there's a better way to do hide the area where the existing roadway lies.  I attached a cross-section so that you can see what I'm talking about.  The x-sec doesn't need to show the FG surface between the two widening areas.  Is a hide boundary my only option?  Thanks a lot.

A hide boundary, or two separate surfaces, your choice.  I'd use the hide boundary.
