Automatic Grading Criteria Creation

I have grading criteria sets that are automatically being created, and I'm just wondering why?  Even better, how do I prevent it?

They look like the following.

[Criteria Set Name]

[Criteria Set Name].1

[Criteria Set Name].2

[Criteria Set Name].1.1

[Criteria Set Name].2.1

[Criteria Set Name].2.2

Ad infinitum

It's a little obnoxious to clean them out so any help would be appreciated.

I know this was posted over 2 years ago, but I've been having the same problem in 2014.  I think I've found a way to get rid of them, so here goes...

  1. Recover the drawing to fix an errors
  2. Use -PURGE to clean up the drawing
  3. Create a new Criteria Set or import one from another drawing - one with a different name - and create a generic Style to populate it
  4. Right-click on the Criteria Set that you can't delete and select Find References...
  5. Right-click on the reference and select Replace with...
  6. Select the new Criteria Set
  7. Use _PURGESTYLES.  Sometimes I have to run it more than once.

NOTE: _PURESTYLES WILL DELETE ALL STYLES THAT ARE NOT SPECIFIED AS A DEFAULT OR IN A COMMAND, SO BE SELECTIVE IF YOU NEED TO.  If you run it multiple times, you may be able to select the specific styles you want to delete.

Hope this helps...

I believe these are created in your file when you copy/paste grading/fline data to and from the clipboard.
