Alignment Style - Section - Line Marker in Section

C3D 2012...

but this feature has probably been in C3D for sometime

1-What is a 'Line Marker in Section' Section component of an Alignment Style?

2-How is it used (example please)?

thx.

  1. Essentially that means that when you use the "Line Marker in Section" component that you will see a line in a section view that corresponds to the alignment.
  2. With that said the only place, I am actually seeing the line displayed is in the Section Editor.

So with the "Line Marker in Section" display enabled with an obvious color selection, select a Corridor, and then select Section Editor from the Corridor Contextual Ribbon tab.  Are you seeing a line displayed at the Centerline that corresponds to the color you set for the "Line Marker in Section"?  If not, click on "Display Objects" on the Section Editor tab and make sure that Alignments and applicable checkboxes underneath Alignments are checked.

Otherwise, when generating Sample Lines and Cross Section Views, I am not seeing that the "Line Marker in Section" display is being utilized.  There is a separate setting for displaying the Center Axis for Section View Styles.
