Add contours-civil 3D 2006

When in the prospectors tab, I have expanded the surface definition. When rightclicking, there is no "add" to add contours to the surface.

Is there a reason why?

Is the 'add' under contours grayed out? You'll get this if the surface is locked.

The only items are:
Properties
Rebuild
Rebuild-automatic
Create snapshot
Rebuild snapshot
Remove snapshot
delete
Zoom to
Pan to
Lock
Unlock
Gen report
export land
refresh

Expand the Surface, Expand the Definition, Right click on Contours .....
