AASHTO - Canadian Equivalent?

Hi,

In our LDD version we have Canadian speed tables and standards that we use when creating super elevations. However, in Civil 3D, it seems that we are restricted to using the default AASHTO standards.

Is there an add on or a way to add Canadian standards (in metric) to Civil 3D?

Thank,
Mike

There is a way. You need to create your own tables and assign them to your
dwg.

Thanks,

I was hoping for an easier way or a site where I could just download the tables from.

Well, someone may have one done and available, but I'm not aware of one.
Good luck.

Hi,
The work has been done and please wait till Autodesk publish the 2010 Canada Ontario Coutry kit
The tables and xml's are done based on Canada TAC 1999 Metric for both High Range and Low range scenarios

Quantity Take - Off (QTO) pay item data is there as well for both MTO and OPSD

C3DL,

Now that we have the CAN Ontario content kit have you noticed that the palettes for it are listed in Russian when you right click on the toolpalette?

Peter,

There is one other issue. When you first start up the MTO version it is looking for a shx file that does not exist.

Cheers,

Peter,

For those of us that do C3D training in Ontario Canada, the MTO (Ministry of Transportation) content kit is a great addition. We do have a slight problem though, that being no documentation to back up anything in the kit (layer schemes, etc.). I had a friend send me over a copy of the MTO AutoCAD Standards Guide v2.1, May 2000. Is there anything more current that Autodesk can provide or do we have to contact the MTO?

Hi,
The Canada Ontario Kit build should install the "document" and not sure what happened, anyways I have a copy of workbook and the file size is too large to attach in this group. I am away from town on a C3D consulting mission at a remote location in western Canada and using the Canada Kit for the training and my students are loving it 🙂

Post your e-mail and I could pass it along

While we're on the subject of suggestions;

1. The DWT is not in line with the others in the folder. Renaming it with an underscore would place it at the top with the rest. Honestly, if I were using this DWT I would place it in some other folder on the network anyway, but to be consistent...

2. The pay item file cannot be located. (see image)

Hey everyone I just downloaded and installed this country kit and noticed that the palettes are still in Russian, the mt-ltype.shx file that it's looking for is actually the mt-ltype_caon.shx file and it doesn't seem to install the mtoeng.shx file at all. I have yet to find any documentation about this country kit on my system. All I have found is the install logs.

Peter,

Just downloaded this, as of Oct 8 2009 it seems none of the above problems have been addressed.

Without trying this, is it possible to get the TAC tables installed an working for Civil 3D 2009? Not all of our techs have the hardware to run 2010 yet, and I can't convince our IS department to install 2010 on my machine only...

Thanks,

Jon

The following files from the install bundle will do the job for 2009 version

Locate "Canada TAC 1999 Metric (High Range)_CAON.xml" and "Canada TAC 1999 Metric (Low Range)_CAON.xml" and assign appropriate file in the "design criteria editor"

C3DL
