500+ ARX ERRORs opening with 2005

We have some files that have clearly been created with Civil 3D and have been "save-as" to 2004.

I have access to Civil 3D 2008 but many of us are still supporting AutoCAD 2005/2006 users.

When they open the files they get hundreds of "ARX ERROR: eDuplicateKey" and "eNotThatKindOfClass" errors. The drawings are impossible to work productively in.

How do you get rid of this error?

Thanks

Make sure they EXPORTED to Autocad, not just SaveAs'ed.

Export as what? a block?

Won't that block be 2008?

Thanks

IN the File menu for C3D is Export-> Export to AutoCAD->Choose your version

This explodes all C3D objects into Autocad primitive objects (or possibly
into blocks that can be exploded down to primitives, I haven't used in in a
while).

That did it! Thank you very much!

(I see the Export\To AutoCAD\2004 is only available in Civil 3D, and not available in "Civil 3D as AutoCAD")
