3dorbit

I have 2008 civil 3d. I have a problem that when I zoom in and out i need to hold down shift and spin the mouse wheel....but if I move the mouse even a little, the 3DORBIT command automatically puts the view into 3D. I think this is a mouse setting because I can't zoom simply by spinning the mouse wheel (the 3dorbit command is just being activated because I'm holding down the shift)

But I guess I need to know how to set the mouse characteristics so that I can zoom without using the shift. I think the 3dorbit will be taken care of if the mouse is set correctly.

Thanks for reading this

Your wheel "should" zoom in AutoCAD without holding the shift key. That is
normally default behavior. I suspect, like you say, it's a mouse driver
setting. You should be able to edit what the buttons do. Make sure that
the wheel setting is not something weird. just normal scrolling should be
fine.

The transparent orbit command you're getting is default as well. This can
be chnaged in the CUI. You'll find it in the mouse buttons area under shift
click.

what do you have for the setting for the mouse? Is the middle buton set at "middle button" or to "zoom" in the mouse settings?

Are your scroll bars turned off in your display? (They should be.)
