3d georeferencing

HI,

I need to insert images(rasters) on a certain elevation. Is it possible to read x,y and z coordinate of the insertion point from world file (tfw, jgw)?

I can do it manually in the dialog box, though. However, I would like to read the elevation as well as X and Y from a world file.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Matej

I've never dealt with JGW or TFW file that contain elevations. Do you have a sample we could look at?

Look at using the MAP3D Data Connect and the raster/surface provider. Or look at the drape features of Civil3D if you have a surface already created.

Thank you!

I am aware of draping... in my case, it would be easier and more appropriate to insert image on certain x,y,z position, since images are small and there are a lot of them.

I'd like to emphasize again that this is easily achieved manually, one by one entering z-value in the mapiinsert dialog box for every image. If I could read Z-value from my world files where the 2d positions are defined, that would be great!

I don't think this is possible out-of-the-box.
