If you're talking about showing what he culvert looks like as it goes underground, that seems pretty similar to working with a tunnel. I've seen tutorials on modeling a tunnel but I can't point you directly to one.
A search for Civil 3d Tunnel Modeling tutorial should turn up some helpful links.

Also, when we first started looking at adding Infraworks to our workflow, I watched some videos on it -- one of them showed adding a tunnel directly in Infraworks. That might also be of assistance.
