I have a friend that is selling me his licensed copy of Civil3d version 2007. Two questions.
Does it only come in a 32bit format?
If it only comes in a 32bit format, will it run on a windows 64bit format?
Thanks,
Randy D.
2011 was 1st 64 version of Civil 3d
you can try installing 2007 on a 64 bit windows you may need a workaround for this to work
you can't buy used copies of autodesk software
you need to go through this route: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=18571898&linkID=9240617

Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.
My advice is that you read the license agreement in full before you agree to pay money for something that you might not be allowed to pay money for. Your friend does not own the software, Autodesk does, and they control whether is can be "sold." You'll see in the license agreement that he can't even let you use it if you're not an employee of his company.
The next thing to do is have the license checked by a reseller. Get the serial number and call your reseller to have the license status researched. If the license does show as "registered" then you will want to try to get it transferred, legally, through Autodesk. I don't think they'll allow it because it's so old, but it costs nothing to put in the application.
If you would like my help in researching the license status, you can call my office at 530.221.2994 and we will be happy to look it up for you. I don't recommend posting the serial number here.
Please be careful before you spend money on this license. I've seen many times where a "friend" tries to sell an old license that has already been upgraded and the purchaser gets burned. Autodesk will not help you recover any losses and might even bring a case against you for damages. That can run upwards of twenty grand per license. Ouch.
Best regards,
Tim

WOW!!!!! Thank you all for the information. I had no idea you couldnt purchase the software from an individual. Through the years I always had access to it since it was at my work, but this is first time I attempted to purchase from someone.
Luckily no money has changed hands, so i am going to investigate everything before moving forward.
Again...THANKS.........
