Change Standalone to Network License without Reinstalling

I know how to change vanilla AutoCAD from a stand alone to network licencse without a reinstall through Registry Editor keys, but the pathing is not same with Civil 3D (currently on Civil 3D 2009). Admin install had problems, tried local install, but now need to change license file to network....has anyone done this before?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

acrocha,

Yes I did, it is basically the same way, I wasnt looking in the right area..go figure.

Find path in registry editor: (command prompt: regedit or Run: regedit)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AUTODESK\%VERSION%\%R%\ACAD%VERSION_SOMETHING%\AdLM\
**If you dont already know be very careful in the registry editor!

Change:
Type REG_DWORD binary data (select and rightclick Modify)- 2a (stand alone) to 19 (network)

If there are multiple servers (for distributed licensing) then go to:

My computer properties
Advanced
Environment Variables
select system variable - ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE edit
add servers in sequencal pull / check order @server1;@server2;@backup

Let me know how it goes or if you get caught up on something.
