When initiating the hatch command  H at the command line my panel changed to the hatch panel. Now the command opens the more traditional hatch dialog.  I don't how it happened, but just when i was getting used to the panel-  hmm.

When editing a hatched area the panel appears.  The behavior is probably managed in options, correct?

That is not the big issue.  Wh,y when I stretch some hatched geometry does not the adjacent hatch stretch with it?

Fir the Ribbon panel issue, Look up HPDLGMODE variable in HELP (if it was changed for a performance reason by someone or something, look up HPQUICKPREVIEW and consider turning it off).

For the second, look up the classic old core AutoCAD topic of Associative Hatching in Help.
