I have an xrefernced drg , which i print from a layout/paperspace .I freeze certain layers using VPort freeze in layer properties and save the drg whenever i close and reopen the drawing the layers are thawed in the viewport again.

Where am i going wrong? Can someone help .

VISRETAIN setting perhaps, if the problem is strictly limited to XREFs?

I am having the same problem.  I cannot get the Drawing to retain the modified layer properties.  There are some layers I want to turn off in the viewport.....I freeze them as soon as I close the drawing and repoen it, they reapear!!  I have tried VISRETAIN set to 1......

...please help!
