I'm starting to get to grips with the final gather funcionality a bit more, but my shadows are still not as I'd like them. I want this table (and any other renders I do in this scene) to look a bit more 'placed' as in the shadows nearest the base should be darker than the rest. I feel at the moment that it looks as though it's floating a little bit, or at least a little ambiguous as to where it's sitting. I know it's possible as the rendering in my previous post had this kind of effect. Not sure if this is an issue with the lighting, render settings or material of the floor. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
