    Realistic rendering

I was wondering if anyone knows any tricks or what not to get a more realistic look to a rendering?  I use ACA 2008 and have been in pretty heavy with the 3d work about the past 3 months.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I would include pictures, but the tif files are too big.  I can email them on request.

convert your tiff shot to a jpg.  that way we can see where your at and our comments would be more relevant.

you can convert using any cheap paint program, possibly even ms paint there are others available for free.

look forward to seeing what you have done.

OH !!  internals!  you are doing much better than my efforts so I'll comment from a viewer point of view rather than 'expert'.

Overall the images look good and tell a story.  Looks like you got the detail, just need the life.

    Light fittings.

    Computers, screens &/or equipment.

some files? on shelves, on desks open

    exit sign, posters, wall diagrams?

    Chairs or stools?

    graffiti?  (kidding)

I notice the underside of the shelving is black, 'MiddleArea' has a black side left of centre. Could use some extra lighting to remove the darker areas.  You can possibly increase ray bounces to get more reflected light but that's beyond my tech to say.  Increase ambient light?? not sure.

I thnk you could get away with a wider camera angle. a little distortion is ok.

    SSteel looks great.

    Altogether great images.

Thank you.   I was told not to go into details with books and stuff.  On others I have lab equipment drawn in, but i don't have the equipment layout for this one yet.  The aspect ratio is about 1.33 on this and was having trouble making it any wider and the projecters I show them with aren't set up for a widescreen in any way.  The lighting has been the toughest part because all I can get to work right is the weblights, but they also shine on the ceiling which I hate.  I tried to put in some stools created with 3d max, but it increased the file size too much and i hadn't thought about exit signs.

Thank you for the input though and I will take it into consideration.

    Mike
