Installing Symbols from National CAD Standards

I want to add all the National CAD Standard Symbols into ADT4.0, and have them available within Tool Palettes or Design Center. The symbols need to be in Imperial units "to scale" on the correct layer, color, and linetype/weight. Lastly, be converted into a executeable file to be downloaded from a remote location (i.e., website server). The execution/uncompression of this downloaded file would need to default to the correct settings within ADT. I could take this customization in stages, starting with the symbol drawing files already drawn to scale... So I am wondering if anyone else has done this or can refer me to a source where I can obtain an Autocad library of Imperial NCS symbols.
Thanks, Debrah

Debrah,

Are you referring to annotation symbols? If so, then you may want to browse
through the existing annotation content in either the content browser or
design center. Many of the annotation symbols were created according to NCS.
There are both imperial and metric versions.

Thank you Matt for your reply. I can see I wasn't specific enough,so I'll try again...I am currently running ADT 3.3 (first time w/ADT) and when I drag & drop the annotations from the "Documentation pull down" they are not EXACTLY the same dimensions NCS lists. I also noticed that the window annotation is different, etc. etc. I have verified that my template file scale is 1:1, so I don't understand why there is a difference, unless it was intentional to modify. In establishing CAD standards, I realize that I need more training with ADT to customize within etc. (I have learned alot from this forum alone.) I was going to contract out our needed customizations, but am now thinking of doing it in stages, if I had accurate annotations already drawn. Hey Matt, I appreciate any further solutions or suggestions you may have.

There was, at one point, some NCS symbology for ADT 3.3, that I had posted
to the downloads section a year or so ago. When the downloads section moved
to another page on the adesk web site, they got lost in the shuffle. I've
been asked for the original zip files and don't have access to them anymore.
However I do have the original content. It's raw - you'll need to know where
to put the files (symbols, layer key styles, templates, etc.), but if that's
not a problem I can probably get them uploaded to the content newsgroup or
some other location for you.

Hey Matt,
That would be great!! Raw is no problem! I'll look for it at the Content Newsgroup. What is your expected timeframe for an upload?

Is now soon enough? I apologize for not having access to Matt's raw files, I had to post copies of the originally posted ZIP files :-). I would imagine the only difference would be that the ZIP files he originally posted contain folder information. I also decided to post them to the Customer Files newsgroup, under the topic "Matt Dillon's NCS Content Files [ADT3.3]", due to the fairly hefty size of each ZIP file - hope you have broadband access.

Note also that since I was posting from the web-based interface, I was limited to one attachment per post, so there are two posts in that thread. The first has the Imperial content ZIP file; the other has the Metric content ZIP file. If you are downloading these from the web-based interface, the first post will be accessible when you first select the link to the thread from the left pane, but in order to access the Metric file, you will need to select the link to the second post in the top right pane prior to trying to download that file [from the lower right pane].

The Customer Files newsgroup can be accessed via the web-based interface at -->

http://discussion.autodesk.com/WebX?14@@.ee940b5

<-- [watch for word wrap], or via a newsreader at -->

news://discussion.autodesk.com/autodesk.autocad.customer-files

<-- [watch for word wrap].

ZIP all files prior to posting. If you use the newsreader access, make the ZIP file an attachment to your post. If you use the web-based interface, there is the usual place to type explanatory text for your post, and an edit box at the bottom where you type in the path and name of the ZIP file, or use the Browse button to navigate to it (usually easier).

Matt,

If you want I can post it to a section of my site so you don't have to
search the NG latter on.

Let me know and if there is more NCS content send it to me and I will post.
I have 100 gigs of storage on my server to size is not an issue.
