For the entire perimeter,  I find the simplest way is to draw a closed polyline, then enter List at the command line.    For individual rooms, you can use Spaces.

Two or more ways to accomplish the task:

If you use the method to create a closed polyline, select the closed polyline object, right-click, choose Properties, scroll down the list and you should see the Area object properties.

Second method is to use the BOUNDARY command to create a close polyline, select the closed polyline object, right-click, choose Properties, scroll down the list and you should also see the Area object properties.

Third method is to use the HATCH command. Create any hatch pattern/solid hatch over the boundaries, select the hatch, right-click, choose Properties, scroll down the list and you should also see the Area object properties.

    Try it.

    Good luck!
