    Difference between DIM and DIMLIN?

    Back in the day of AutoCAD in architecture school I would use the command DIM to dimension something.

     

    Of course later when I type that in now I can't click anything and it doesn't work. I know to use Dimension Linear (DIMLIN) now but I was wondering what's the difference between the two- possilby between AutoCAD Arch and the regular version?

    I'm using AutoCAD Architecture 2013.

    DIM and DIM1 are the classic commands, and they are nothing like DIMLINEAR. Try this link for an explanation:
