noahma,
Well, isn't that an obvious thing to do. Time is an issue as we seem to be always under the gun.
I'll look into getting something up shortly.

I agree and posted such an image on my blog from
James who demo'd such a task.

However you may find that in the latest template
the Medium Detail DispRep is tied to the same model view as the Presentation
DR. This is different to earlier templates and I thought was not helpful
so I changed it back so I could do the white thing (or cardboard etc) in Medium
Detail and full colour in Presentation DR.

tend to have a two fold for our drawings. Medium display rep has only white
paint added to everything but glass. high rep would have more realistic
materials. So if a Client is in a design review meeting, they can focus on the
design intent itself rather than the materials we add to the drawing. and it
comes with some pretty neat looking renders even in all white flat paint. All
it really takes is 5-10 min plus time to set up the sun for a quick render for
the review meetings.

I would love to see renderings completed in ACA 2010 ONLY.
No add-ons, no additional processing.
What may be acccomplisjed with ACA ONLY ?
Reason is I am comparing Revit to ACA rendering.

The render engine in Autocad Architecture and Revit are now the same. They both use the Mental Ray render engine, but with different interfaces.

Anybody care to share, (ie post) some simple examples of renderings completed in Arch 2010 only ?
I would be interested in looking at examples which are NOT photo realistic.
Something quick and simple to get an design idea across to a client.
Currently I do not render but it is on my TO DO LIST.
I need some ecouragement to get into the renderimg process...

I did take another look at the Customer Gallery Forum, spent a bit more time looking and did find examples of the rendering type I was looking for.
Thanks,
It is all so interesting.

"It is all so interesting"
...and so very simple. Once you have materials assigned to your styles in your style library, it's a simple matter of typing RENDER to achieve acceptable images. I wouldn't go so far as saying photo-realistic, but certainly better than a hidden view or shaded visual style.

ok so its not ACA 2010... these were done with ACA 2009
they're not the best, but useful for presenting ideas fairly quickly.
