I just installed my autocad 2011 student's version. Everytime I start to work on a drawing
I get this messages:
"A software problem has caused autocad to close unexpectedly."
When I try to shut it down and re-open I get this: Autocad 2011 student's version is not responding."
Other times in the middle of work the monitor freezes with the message: "Fatal error: unhandled access violation." Error report contains the following files:
acminidump.dmp
dmpuserinfo.xml
dumpdata.zip
I cannot go more than 1-1/2 minutes without the monitor freezing. This is very frustrating.
Anybody with possible ideas of what could be going on with my program?

Things to try:
Turn the ribbon off by picking a classic workspace.
Turn off the modeless layer palette.
Turn off any palette transparency.
Turn off SelectionCycling, SC button at bottom of screen
Turn off Hardware Acceleration within AutoCAD, icon on the lower right near workspace and toolbar lock.
Set hpdlgmode to 1 and/ or hpquickpreview to off.
Are you using two monitors? Use monitor 1 as your graphics monitor.
