I have a Dell XPS L702X running Windows 7, i7-2720QM processor with 8GB RAM.
AutoCAD Architecure has stopped responding and is very slow to respond to the simplest of commands. ie. pan, zoom, orbit. I have done all of the updates available, through Dell and Autodesk. What else is there? I really need a stable CAD environment!

I would check you video card. I had the same issues and just changed out the video card to one that is recommended by Autodesk. It has helped a ton, but has not totally resolved my issue. I still get hung up, but not nearly as often. I think the next step is to check the mother board. This all started when I switched from Windows NT to windows 7.

I would recommend the same check in regards to the graphics system. In addition to this I would suggest turning the User Account Controller (UAC). This has also been known to prove favorable results with use in the software and Win 7/Vista environment.

"I would suggest turning the User Account Controller (UAC)" Please clarify, On, off, left, right and where do we turn this UAC?

Yes, I too would be interested on how to do this.

Notes on the User Account Control (UAC) feature (available in on Vista/Win 7*):
- Navigate to the Control Panel>Users Accounts>User Accounts>Change User Account Settings (then turn off in Vista or slide down to lowest setting in Win 7)
- Because UAC also limits the rights of administrators, users may encounter restriction problems as standard users when UAC is enabled.
* In Windows 7 the UAC slider should be moved down to the lowest setting.

“Amy” I wanted to check in and see if the problem is still persisting and/or if the issue is resolved so we can mark this inquiry as resolved. Thank you and we look forward to your reply post.

I have been having the same issue with the program not responding. I changed the User Control Settings like you suggested earlier and it didn't help. Is there any other suggestions?

Same here, tried above suggestion to no avail. This seems to be the most unstable ACA in many years.
