weird plotting issue

We have a nested xref which is an overlay. The xref it is xrefed into in our parent drawing is also an overlay.

when this nested xref is loaded any lines in our drawing around the area where it is inserted don't plot!

It is almost like there is a white background to the nested xref that blocks out lines underneath it!

I know that doesnt make sense, but when we detach that xref, our lines plot.

Additional info: the nested xref has layers in it that have the same exact name as those that exist in our parent drawing that don't plot-wouldn't think that would matter but I have no idea.

Anyone know why this is happening? We got the file to plot finally....but I don't fully understand the issue and I would like to for the future.

CORRECTION, the xref is NOT nested. It is simply xrefed into the parent drawing as an overlay....but seems to 'cover up' the lines in the drawing below it.

thanks,
Aimee

ALSO--- The xref 'covers up' all the other xrefs in the drawing also....

if this xref is loaded....it is the ONLY thing that plots in the drawing

so confused, but interested 🙂

thanks!
