plots from different machines coming out very dark

Hi

we have cad standards in our office, all computers have the same plotters set up and the same plot styles and they all print to the same location.

the problem is when we print the exact same drawing with the exact same setting from some computers it comes out with really thick lines. Is this a printer driver problem or am i missing some setting in ACA2008? (this has happened all through ADT 2006/2007 so i'm thinking it's the printer and not the ACA)

Thanks

You have selected "plot with plot styles" in the plot box, I assume?

And "plot object lineweights"

Or "scale lineweights" if you are reducing the size of the plot?

Based on past experience as a predictor of the future, I'd figure the issue was most likely in the ACAD, not the driver.

Hi

checked all those things and they are all exactly the same on the different pc's. I even tried checking and unchecking different combinations of them to see if that made any difference and every plot from the 'dark' machines came out the same regardless of what settings i turned on or off.

it seems to be a problem on the newer computers only.

thanks

Have you checked for newer drivers or at least compared versions between
machines?

Yep. the newer PCs have a newer driver. So I'm tipping that's the problem. Thanks
