mouse skipping over xref in paperspaceonly??

I never had this problem before but all of a sudden my mouse will skip or
jump as it is moved over any xref I have in paperspace. Does anyone have any
ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it??

Thanks in advance

Carl

How many running osnaps do you have set? Try turning them off or only
having 1 or 2 running osnaps.

When you have running osnaps set and you move your cursor over an xref,
AutoCAD searches the entire xref for all occurrences of each of the
specified osnaps and then analyzes those occurences to see if any of them
are in the area of the cursor. You will see more dramatic speed degredation
as the xref gets larger and more running osnaps are set. That may be why
you haven't noticed the issue before.

I hope that helps.

Doug,

Thanks for the response. I've tried turning off the osnaps but it still acts
the same. I don't have the problem in 2005ADT, just 2008. It just started
the other day. I tried updating the video card drivers but still no luck.
Any other ideas I might try??

Thanks

Carl

This is a basic thing and I hate to ask, but have you checked to make sure
Snaps are turned off too? Maybe the cursor is jumping between the snap
settings in paperspace in that drawing.

Does this do the same thing for all drawings, or just specific drawings?
Does it do it in a new drawing without xrefs or anything else? Does it do
it to xrefs that are inserted into paperspace or xrefs inserted into model
space, or both?

Doug,

I do have snaps turned off. It happens in ALL drawings but just in
Paperspace. It seems to only be over the xref of my Titleblock. I tried
purging, etc. the T-block xref but no luck. I don have "fields" in my
T-block if that makes any difference. When I set the "pickbox" var. to "0"
from "3" it doesn't happen. I'm all out of ideas so if you have anymore,
please let me know.

Maybe I'll just have to live with it and change pickbox to "0" in P-space.

Thanks for your response.

Doug,

Just a note for you. I found a away to work around the issue for now. I just
got rid of the xref in my titleblock template and inserted the info as just
lines, plines, etc. and it seems to work now. I guess having an xref of a
blank titleblock into my template file just was screwing it up. I don't know
why now all of sudden it's happening though. I like to have the blank
t-block as a sep. xref so if I change any info, address, phon #, etc. it
will update on ALL the drawings new and old when I open them.

Thanks again for the help
