Wall merge/cleanup/modifier inquiry

Q: I created a new wall type that includes Stud, Sheathing, and Rigid Insulation. I need to show the existing CMU walls cutting through the new Stud walls.  Can this be done?

A: Yes it can by utilizing both plan modifiers and body modifiers within the wall tools for the AutoCAD Architecture product.  I have included steps below along with a helpful video (no sound) overviewing the exact steps listed.

Steps for mid wall condition merge with bump out;

-select perpendicular exterior stud wall

-right click to open fly out menu

-navigate to “body modifiers”

-select the “add”

-select object to use to modify stud wall (in this example the CMU wall coming into it to form around)

-hit enter key

-add body modifier dialog box populates, select OK

-done

Steps for wall merge on exterior wall joint right side of file;

-right click on front exterior wall to edit justification

-then edit wall justification for front exterior wall to reflect front side wall justification

-right click on front side exterior wall to select plan modifier

-follow prompts in command line

-select ok once completed in plan modifier dialog box

-from here you will then need to adjust the wall clean up radios to correct the warning triangle

-done
