Settings to allow a block to be trimmed, etc..

Can blocks be trimmed with the trim command, etc?

If so, where are the settings to allow this?

Thanks in advance.

The AutoCAD TRIM command will not work on block references.  You can achieve the equivalent by using the AEC Trim tool (AecLineworkTrim command).  You can read more about this command in the Help or in this blog article.  Note that only "trimmable" objects within the block definition will be trimmed; any non-trimmable objects will be left as is.  Per the Help, hatches, polylines, circles, arcs, spaces, AEC polygons and mass element extrusions can be trimmed.  Lines work, also.

In addition to what David mentioned, you can try clipping your blocks using the "xclip" command.

Hi Octavio,

Did David's post help you accomplish what you're trying to do?

That blog article is a great resource, and covers the same concept as the following help article, in a bit more detail.

To Trip Linework or Profile-Based Objects
