Proj Navigator in all verticals?

I've gone thru the posts I could find on PN and a couple have come close to
giving me a basic answer and a few have implied an answer.. but none for
sure, and no ways to make it happen, etc.

So here's my question: We have ACA here, as well as vanilla '08 and the
electrical vertical (similar to ACA, but electrical.. whatever it's called)
and we're looking to begin implementing PN for the first time.
We'd need to be able to incorporate drawings from all three versions of the
software, and if that isn't "do-able" then we'd lose one of the reasons for
using it.

So is PN something that the people on the electrical vertical and vanilla
can utilize, or at least co-exist with? We can't find reference to PN in
either vanilla or electrical...

Thanks
Paul

I am not sure what MEP can or can't do.
PN is very similar to Sheet Set Manager which plain acad 2008 has and
I believe MEP has. I understand that SSM and PN can co-exist.

I just looked online...what we have here is not "AutoCad MEP", it's "AutoCad
Electrical"... if that makes any difference to the discussion at hand.

all we could find in the menus was something called "Project Manager"....
that left us wondering if it was Acad Electrical's version of SSM?

Paul,
Check and see what this Project Manager does.
Hopefully is does wat SSM does and hopefully they
intergrate with PN. (If not, shame on A'desk)
If they don't, you could import the layouts produced in Electrical
into the Project Navigator.
I don't have Electrical so I can't give any other suggestions.

Agreed... it's a bit strange that all the different versions of the software
wouldn't have something in them that would allow them all to work together
on something as big as this.

And to be quite honest, if I understand what SSM does, that's all we're
really looking to do. We want the organizational system and the "linking" of
sheets into a project set so that if we change section bubbles, etc., etc
the details and the bubble numbers are linked, etc.
We don't plan to use (not for quite a while anyway) all of PN's
model-management tools (no 3d here)

Thanks for your help Leo!

ok, a bit of an update on this whole thing... we've now found that all three
versions have SSM in them. And since it's looking like that's really all the
functionality we need at this point we're heading toward just using SSM for
our purpose.
