Pro_Stahl_3d Object Enabler

I have received a DWG from an old project, that contains 3D objects that I would like to us as a starting point for a renovation of this project. The DWGs are from a previous architect. When I open the files in ACA 2012 it asks for a Missing Application: Pro_Stahl_3d.

From Google searches I think these are a Bentley Pro Steel, but I have no confirmation of that.

Where can I get an object enabler to have these objects display in ACA 2012 as 3D objects and not just bounding boxes?

Set PROXYWEBSEARCH = 1.  If you have an internet connection, AutoCAD will search for an Object Enabler.

More info:

Is "Stahl" a typo?  Did you mean "Steel?"  Can you post the file?  Do you know who and have contact information for the original architect?  If you do, may not hurt to make a call.  Ask the author to bind the xref and export the file to ACAD.  They need to save the file on their end with PROXYGRAPHICS set to 1.  That saves the drawing with the graphics instead of just a stand-in rectangle.  If you change PROXYNOTICE to 1 you might be able to determine what program created the object and possibly download an object enabler for it.

Be sure that the Show Proxy Objects option is selected on the Open and Save tab in the Options dialog box. You cannot explode unless you find the original object enablers, but you may be able to copy the few acad objects to a new file.  You can use QSELECT to select all but the proxy objects. Avoid the Object type: ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY.  Here's another option: http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=5296.  And You could try setting the variable PROXYSHOW to 0, and just shut off the proxy boxes. Another quick workaround is to save the drawing as a DXF file, and then open the DXF. The DXF file creation removes metadata and proxies.

It's not a typo, see attached image.

I do have PROXYWEBSEARCH set to 1, it has not been any help.

I don't have access to original Architect.

Based on this link, I suspect you are correct that Pro_Stahl_3d is from a Bentley product.

Bentley would make the object enablers if they exist.  You may need to contact Bentley at:

Just following up and wondered if the above suggestion helped.

Unfortunately no.  I still haven't confirmed that Por_Stahl_3d belongs to Bentley, and their website is a mess.  I have yet to find downloads for objects enablers, everything requires a log-in.

Try this link to the Bentley ProSteel Product Forums.  Someone in their forum may be able to help.  We do believe Pro_Stahl_3d is Bentley's Pro Steel.

Here's an easy download I came across for this object enabler:
