I plot my drawings from a layout to PDF then can print from various printers, but the PDF and subsequent plots come out very light, somewhat like in a halftone plot. The image in the paper view port also show lighter than the color in the model view. I am using the AIA standard color.ctb plot style and have tried switching to various styles.
This seems to happen more often with files I get from other vendors or customers and it may be an easy fix but I am stumped after trying numerous options and searching the community.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A few things to look into are the plot style itself, and then also test an alternate PDF driver for plotting to compare the objects themselves that are printing lighter than expected.
In regards to the possibility of outside venders files and influence, it may just need a simple clean up using the link below before using and testing the plot within your system setup.

I had this problem for a long period in ACA2012 and never really worked it out why.
Tried my own STB file but that didn't work.
Eventually overwrote Adobe PDF.pc3 with one from an older version from ACA2010 support files and everything was fine.
I have tried modifying the plot style table in the layout page setup. This worked one time but not other times.
If I am working with a file from another party and the plot style is missing will reselecting this plot style table work for this. I haven't been able to get consistent results using this substitution.
Thank you for your post and suggestion Dean. In this case I would also suggest reaching out to the third party if possible and inquire about getting a copy of this missing plot style. This could then be used to link back up to the said file and hopefully plot as needed.
