Opening Files

When opening a file in ACA 2010, the open window has "Date" shwoing for the drawing date. I want "Date Modified" to appear when I open files so I uncheck "Date" and check "Date Modified" How do I get that to be the default when opening files? Thanks.

Where did you "uncheck" that exactly? We can't see over you shoulder 😉

On what operating system are you running ACA 2010?  Was it available at the time ACA 2010 was released?  My experience has been that making changes to the the columns in the file dialogs (OPEN, etc.) will stick if the release I am using was designed for the version of the OS I am running, but if the OS is of a more recent vintage, then it does not remember the changes and just displays with the default settings.

That was some time back, however, and your mileage may vary.

Dean - See attached image for where these numbers apply:

1) This is the window that appears after File > Open

2) Drawings are sorted by "Date"

3) I want "Date Modified", so;

4) I uncheck "date", and;

5) check "Date Modified"

When I come back to this window however, it is back to "Date" being displayed.

AFAIK you can't set that permanently inside AutoCAD: reason why so many users prefer to use WIndows Explorer to sort and open files from instead.
