I can't seem to change the colour of the sun. Its stuck on a strange shade of brown.
Also I created a new material. It was a shade of grey metalic paint. Except that it appears to have a red tint.
Any ideas?

Hi Brian,
If you change the system variable LIGHTINGUNITS to "0", you should be able to change the sun color.
For reference, the options for this system variable are:
0: No lighting units. Standard lighting enabled.
1: American lighting units (foot-candles). Photometric lighting enabled.
2: International lighting units (lux). Photometric lighting enabled.
Please let me know if this fixes the issue for you.
Briliant! Thats much better thanks! This has been driving me nuts.
You're a genius Victoria
So, in newer versions of AutoCAD, LIGHTINGUNITS can't be changed to 0. So, then the original question: how do I change the sun color?

In current releases the color of the sun changes with the day/time, no other option exists.
The alternative you have is to turn off the sun and create a distant light instead.
